Institute roles

Kate is Library Services Manager at the Institute of Historical Research, with responsibility for reader services provision within the library and acting as a liaison point with different departments to ensure delivery of technical services. She is responsible for the day to day maintenance of the library webpages. She is a co-convenor of History Day.

Background

Kate received a BA in History of Art and English Literature from the University of York in 1998 and an MSc in Information Science from City University in 2001. Besides various library positions, she worked as a research assistant on a bibliometrics project at City University from 2001 to 2003 before starting at the IHR in 2004. Her historical interests are varied, and include medieval art and architecture, early twentieth-century art, and landscape, local and social history. In 2023-5 she is studying part-time on the IHR's MA in History, Place and Community.
