Institute roles

Kristýna assists with the provision of services to library users, and promotion of the collections.  She also works on special projects such as reclassification, digitisation and exhibitions.

Background

Kristyna completed two Master’s degrees at Charles University: one in Latin Medieval Studies and another in General History, with a specialization in civilization and culture in medieval Europe.

Previously she was a Research Fellow at Charles University and Queen Mary University of London, working on a research project entitled, ‘Tracts against Monastic Personal Property in Medieval England’. She has also worked as an assistant in the Library of the Institute of Greek and Latin Studies and as tour guide at a local castle.

Research interests

Kristyna focuses on church history, medieval manuscript culture and textual editing, with a particular interest in late medieval tracts and the papal schism of 1159. She is also interested in digital humanities, having completed several courses in digitisation and the digital editing of medieval manuscripts.
