Institute roles

During her year at the IHR, Sarah will learn about library and information roles, both within the IHR and on visits to other libraries. Sarah works in the library enquiries office, dealing with reader enquiries both in person and online. She also assists in a variety of other work, including social media and library collection development. As well as this, she works on digital resources including the Bibliography of British and Irish History and Reviews in History. Sarah is part of the small team planning and organising the History Day event.

Background

Sarah has a BA History from Lancaster University 2020-2023, and would like to do a MA in Library and Information Science after completing her traineeship. Her interests include the history of identity, gender and sexuality, as well as social histories of oppression and resistance.
