Institute roles
During her year at the IHR, Sophia will learn about library roles, both within the IHR and on visits to other libraries. Sophia works in the library enquiries office, dealing with reader enquiries both in person and online. She also assists in a variety of other work, including social media, library collection development and the Bibliography of British and Irish History. Sophia is part of the small team planning and organising the History Day event.
Background
Sophia has a BA History from St. Anne’s College, University of Oxford 2020-2023, and would like to do a MA in Library and Information Science after completing her traineeship. Her interests include the history of sexuality, gender, and childhood, as well as the history of libraries and the book.
