CHPPC Training Minis

These ‘Training Minis’ are short videos on particular topics linked to the work of the Centre for the History of People, Place and Community and our projects, such as the Victoria County History. Longer training videos, usually recordings of events, are available in our Training Archive. You may also be interested in our ‘Applied Public History’ MOOC, as well as wider IHR training.
Defining Knowledge Exchange
Have you ever wondered what the higher education sector means by ‘Knowledge Exchange’? In this short video Dr Ruth Slatter, Lecturer in Historic Environment and Knowledge Exchange at the IHR, unpacks the term with the help of Research England’s Knowledge Exchange Framework.

The Victoria County History as Knowledge Exchange
The Victoria County History (VCH) is a national network of place-based historians working towards researching and writing the history of every place in England from the earliest records to the present day. Although established in 1899, the VCH has always been grounded in ‘Knowledge Exchange’ principles. In this short video Dr Ruth Slatter, VCH Co-General Editor, uses the VCH as an example to demonstrate some ways in which the concept of ‘Knowledge Exchange’ can be practically implemented.
