The VCH Wiltshire Trust

The VCH Wiltshire Trust is a registered charity – no. 1102882 – controlled by a constitution and has as its patron HM Lord-Lieutenant for Wiltshire, Mrs Sarah Rose Troughton. One sub-group of trustees plans and manages all our fund-raising activities. A second manages the research and writing of each chapter for Volume 20, Chippenham and District. Volume 19, Mere and the Deverill Valley, is being written and funded by the Institute for Historical Research with the help of a generous bequest.

Each volume costs around £150,000 to research and write, a considerable fundraising challenge. Our approach to fundraising is to engage as many people as possible in our work through our Friends organisation, to hold a series of events and to apply for external funds wherever possible. Fundraising events typically include an annual afternoon tea and tour at one of Wiltshire’s grand houses and a series of talks and lectures. We are raising enough money to maintain progress with work on Volume 20 but very much wish to accelerate this, which means securing more funds: if you would like to support us, or have ideas for other sources of funds, please see contact our Honourary Treasurer, by email to treasurer@vchwiltshire.org.uk

All donations received, large or small, will be used to support directly the research and publications of VCH Wiltshire.
