About the seminar

The Strand Group: Institutions of British Government seminar series focuses on seminal moments in the contemporary history of British Government. Fusing academic papers with expert respondents, the seminar series seeks to examine how British government really works in practice as well as in theory.

Examining the changes and development of the institutions of British government, the seminar series seeks to highlight and assist government in understanding its own institutional history, providing a forum where current and previous government officials can learn from and help academics research.

The conveners of the seminar series reflect this, combining established academics with current practitioners and students the seminar series will reflect The Strand Group’s core beliefs that true understanding comes through building sustained relationships between academics and practitioners.
