About the seminar
The Modern German History seminar draws scholars from all around the UK, Europe, and the wider world. We focus on the history of the German-speaking lands and Germans overseas since the nineteenth century, exploring themes in political, social, economic, intellectual, and cultural history.

PhD showcase- 29 January 2025
This seminar provides doctoral students with the opportunity to give a short 15min presentation on their research. It will allow PhD researchers to gain peer-feedback on their project or a specific chapter of their work. We encourage both PhD students from within and outside the UK to apply.
If you are interested in applying, please send a short paper abstract (max. 250 words) and a short CV to caroline.sharples@roehampton.ac.uk and s.gehrig@sheffield.ac.uk.
The deadline for submissions is Friday, 13 December 2024, 6pm. We will inform applicants of the outcome by Friday, 20 December 2024.
